Thank you for visiting and welcome to my book's website. Join baby raccoon and explore the world of adoption from an adopted child’s perspective. This rhyming story was written by, me, Kelsey Takahashi who was adopted at birth. Growing up, I read several adoption books. One day, I realized something: Where was a voice like mine? I noticed that most stories came from the parent perspective. From that realization emerged a desire to bring adopted children’s voices into the conversation. This book addresses sensitive topics that may arise in the complex, delicate, and dynamic relationship that is adoption. While it touches upon these concepts, the narrative is intended for all ages, including younger children, in order to make conversation more comfortable and easier. I hopes my voice will empower others to use their own voices and build healthier, more communicative relationships. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
